Google and other earnings (and check out AAPLTrader.com)
Listened to a bunch of earnings calls tonights. The economy, at least for corporate America, sounds like it’s surprising some of the executives to the upside — that is the earnings report and guidance have been good and the commentary hasn’t been full of hyperbole.
Google came in “better than expected”, which means that both the revenues and the earnings were higher than the analysts had been expecting. Tomorrow should bring some upward revisions to the analyst models and we’ll have to see if the market rewards that.
Next week is when earnings season will really hit in full gusto. We’ll put together a calendar of when our positions report earnings for you guys and I’ll have more analysis on all of this tomorrow. I’ll also send out a “Latest Positions” post.
