GM everyone.- Hope you had an enjoyable day off if you were not called into work for one reason or another. We have a short trading session today with the markets closing at 1pm. We have a positive bias in pre market trading. Lets see if the stocks can carry higher into the new year as the month of Dec begins next monday. Volume will be thin today and can get volatile as a result. Stay sharp.

hen it does one, it’s news. Today it unveiled its Black Friday deals available both on its online store and at its retail stores around most of the world in a promotional email. Basically if you buy an iPad, Mac or iPod, you get an Apple gift-card worth between $50 and $150. And if you buy online but live near an Apple store, you have the option of picking up your purchase at the store today. Otherwise you can skip the crowds and take advantage of free shipping.

@MikeM: GM. Radar- to be honest a buy in TSLA as it may have bottomed at 120. Aside for that I added on the pullbacks / sideways action we had in APPLE, FB,CREE, FSLR so I am really holding pat. I think we get that rally into the new year and then some as new $$ comes into managers funds, ira, 401K for the beginning of jan and then we see the budget battle rear its UGLY head and correct. I have thought that for some time, Now I didnt think FB would correct 20% cien even more than that and otherts but unless things change thats what Im looking for.

@Johan: I feel the same way, but the stock price is a diff story, we know its pricy PE wise but stocks doesnt always trade on PE value alone. The car is a no brainer stunning design inside and out for an elect car.

what we do have to realize is that funds will SELL losing stocks as the year end approaches to show they dont own badly performing or lagging stocks. that could include CREE, TQNT, CIEN if things dont change and they see continued weakness or move sideways

@Johan: last TSLA report- Yes I looked it over saw the #’s. Just happened to be it was priced for perfection, then report said battery shortage, car fires, and then official investigation TSAL requested PLUS 400% rise in stock price Y/Y so it pullback. @musa: I did say anyone who want to trim do so its a good $ but IMO I think AAPL can continue its run higher into year end, doenst mean it will be straight up from here but will be at a higher $$ at some point before the new year arrives. Just one mans idea. That all it is. After this weekend we will see #’s on sales of iphones tablets etc and should see coverage and price targets raised on apple, but lets wait and see, that my approach today

Hi 249 – I would be careful and I think Cody is being cautious also. Market highs are tough sometimes – it’s best to defer to his guidance, then put your 20% guidance on top and make moves. He seems distracted by Scutify app right now, hoping he turns back to investments for us ~

I forgot who it was but someone here posted a few days ago about being fearful we hadnt heard about any of the PIGS countries being downgraded or negative news about their debit issues. Crazy thing this weekend Moodys one of the credit ratings companies actually UPGRADED GREEC’S debit rating: wc member asked no debit downgrades pigs etc he was scared. Now this 180 degrees upgrade. Does market rally mon off of this?? Past downgrade = pullbk now upgrade = yr end 10% rally ?? @jarheadwho: I dont think cody is being distracted by scutify. He has made himself present on this chat room more and more frequently in addition to the 1 hr weekly chat of which this week there will be 2 of them. I think he is just being cautious after a very strong performance for 2013 and wants to ease back on the throttle. Thats my POV. I think we could have some good news in individual stocks into year end and even 1-2 weeks after as money flows into funds for the new year. Then we have the gov showdown again over the budget and possible gov shutdown once more at which time I think it will be very wise to pullback ourselves and see what unfolds.

Another funds take on Amazon and new products: In the medium term, we believe an Apple deal with China Mobile (CHL:NYSE) is imminent, and we see it leading to better visibility to estimates for the first half of 2014. Longer-term, newer products like the larger screen iPhone 6 (4.8 inch and 5.5 inch versions) and the iPad Pro could lead to better margin upside as well. Apple stock trades at 9.1x forward earnings, excluding cash. That’s below its 14x five-year average, and we like the risk-reward ratio.

I too, thought the Amazon announcement re using drones was pretty cool… But without much, much further amplification, this really seems more like a tech/customer wet dream than anything else. It’s one thing to build lots of warehouses and be able to truck things out of them locally, but if you just think about it and do the math… say there are warehouses in the LA area and everyone loves the new drone idea. This could be thousands of orders a day, and no way with the FAA ever approve that kind of an infestation flying through the air. And just think of the public outcry. And just also think what would happen when the first one or two drones crash, or drop their 5-pound boxes on someone’s head. Hate to be the pessimist, but think about all of this. But we’ll se

@ebdavids: the drones is a mouth dropping items no doubt. But in regards to actual usage. This item is geared for residential suburban usage. As amazon builds more and more fulfillment centers near hi density areas it will utilize more and more local shippers which is why it brought in the post office for sunday deliveries and local trucks and mailmen for same day delivery. These drones would NEVER work in Manhattan for example. However for rural suburban deliveries they make TOO much sense not to use them. Who needs a big ruck coming to make a small 5 pound or under delivery spending so much gas, effort for small packages when this elect device can do the same and in a fraction of the time.

@jahmon: have any of your options actually traded? Most brokerages list the bid price and if there are no trades the bid can be low because someone is low balling. don’t fret your options will rise.

@eryba1: I have cree (one tranche to go – but very happy with my purchase prices – was buying it the last couple weeks), happy with my holdings in LNKD, and will probably add more FB. My ZNGA holdings are low. Cost basis just over $3.00. I think I will wait and see if I can get ZNGA for $4.

@Cody: I know you’re not keen on stock-splits just for the “hey” of it. That said, at what point should GOOG consider such a monster? If they get to 1500 or 2K, there aren’t many retail investors willing to bite. Probably pretty stout right now for most (me included). just curious about your thoughts on that. Sub 1000, I get it, but over that you’re in a different category. I guess Berkshire pulls it off, so…..

because I think some of these gogo stocks are topping, at least in the short run. The news about HLF passing the smell test in Belgium isn’t a big deal. I think it’s a good opportunity for some to unload on the good news.

@Lu: I mean company fundamentals are one thing when the stock is rising and looks and acts this good why fight the battle when u have an option to get in or short when the odds chart stock action is more in your favor? Listen each of us has their own reasons, ideas insight etc for our actions but from an outsider looking at HLF there seems to be no issues in its price action.

Hello all – (1) I got today’s trade alert at 551pm – why so late, when i see here some got it before 1pm? and (2) INTC – when Cody says “another tranche,” roughly what % of eventual holding is he talking about? In other words, is a tranche a fourth, or a third, etc.? Thanks for help.
