Taking a week to recover from the Little Bear Fire

As some of you dear readers have rightfully pointed out, I need to take some time to focus on my family and my property, 60% of which has burned from the Little Bear Fire, some of it scorched. My house survived and frankly, the 40% of the property that didn’t burn traces along one of the paths that I’d cut through this recently virgin land.

I was finally allowed to move back into my own home this weekend and I’m emotionally exhausted and I need a rest. I was supposed to present my best tech investment idea (which was going to be Facebook below $30 for the record) to Wall Street hot shots like Jim Chanos and Vitaliy Katsenelen in Vail this week. And then I was supposed to go play in a celebrity golf tournament in the Hamptons with my friend Richard “Big Daddy” Salgado next weekend. But I canceled both and I’m going to not write this week for TradingWithCody.com.

I’ll be around if there’s any crazy spikes or crashes in the markets, but it’s been a long time since I took a whole week off of writing and I need to take this week off to get my head and personal affairs back in some semblance of order.

I’ll leave you with some music that my band recorded last month in an area that is now scorched beyond recognition but that we used to call “Muddy Souls Alcove — the Retreat” because it was such a peaceful little piece of land.

And here’s a video we put together here in Alto, NM from recordings in NYC that includes a cameo from Bob Weir:

The Muddy Souls – Are You Selling Your Soul?

Thanks again for all your kind words, support and prayers for me, my family and my community here in Ruidoso, NM.

See you in a week.
