I get some pretty vicious comments on my blog at Marketwatch.com, just as I’ve gotten nasty comments on every public forum I’ve ever been a party of, from my days at TheStreet.com, Financial Times, Fox Business, CNBC, and so on. (For what it’s worth, the

It’s a listless Friday morning of action out there, with tech leading on a broader soft sell off. Oracle reported a very strong and impressive quarter last night and the stock is down today. But one thing you’ll not read in anybody mainstream analysis on Oracle’s report

For the last few months, I’ve not minced words as I’ve repeatedly flagged Lender Processing Services as one of the clearest scapegoats of the cloudy-title/robo-signing/foreclosure-gate debacle, calling over and over “The Best Short in the Market“. I’ve called the stunning lack of

Let’s talk Cisco. Cisco hasn’t caught a bid since it reported its second straight disappointing quarterly results a couple months ago. The stock has gotten much cheaper, as it has fallen much faster than estimates have. Back before that most recent report, back in May, analysts expected Cisco

I was asked for an update on A123 Systems. Back when I flagged A123 as a short idea but was unable to borrow any, I was looking for two catalysts to the downside —1. a loss of welfare subsidies for alternative energies like the kind of batteries that A123 makes

Stepping up and getting aggressive into the teeth of a steady decline late last week was, as I wrote at the time, “scary” and “very hard” to do. Remember how it felt back then: Okay, I’m stepping up and buying and I’m getting more aggressive about my approach
